Open, urban innovation for the city of Thessaloniki.

This is my submission for the contest of "Open Thessaloniki" regarding their new Identity. "Open Thessaloniki" is a platform of data collection about the city of Thessaloniki, aiming also to develop applications and services using the open source / software and data. Τhe information collected will be able to be updated by the users themselves, aiming for the continuous and reliable information of the readers regarding public services, public works, statistical data, and many others.

It was desired that the logo has some reference to the city of Thessaloniki and has a technological orientation. The concept is based on one of the most characteristic monuments of Thessaloniki, the triumphal Arch of Galerius, also known as "Kamara", a UNESCO World Heritage Site. "Kamara" is one of the most famous meeting points for residents and visitors to the city. The logo was designed to have a sharp , techy feel while being respective to the Historic significance of the monument. By utilizing depth of field the logo brings out the extrovert character of the organization visualizing the word "Open".

I got the 3rd place.
